The NY Post reported today that FreshDirect is poised to move from its undersized Long Island City headquarters to site near the Willis Avenue Bridge.
The Post writes that the company would build a 500,000 square foot warehouse with $125 million private investment. Sources tell the paper that the state, city and Bronx BP Ruben Diaz, Jr. offering about $112 million in assistance.
Concern about the status of the “living wage,” however, could scuttle the deal. But who knows what happens now that Bloomberg is joining Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s call to increase the state minimum wage.
