In an email to supporters, Ulster County Democratic Chairman Frank Cardinale assessed Cece Tkaczyk’s court battle to secure a victory in the 46th Senate District.
Cardinale believes that Tkaczyk is very likely to prevail in the absentee ballot challenge needing only to make up 111 votes to take the lead.
<em>”…Cece Tkaczyk is very likely to prevail in the absentee ballot challenge (nearly 90% are Dem ballots being challenged with 60% of all ballots coming from Ulster County). Trailing by 918 votes going in to the absentee ballot count, she picked up an 808 vote advantage. She needs to make up 111 votes to take the lead and the attorneys are confident that given the nature and “quality” of the challenges, she should take a comfortable lead. Senate Republicans will likely exhaust every legal avenue however, and we will be lucky to have a final decision before February of next year. I will try to keep everyone posted.”
