http://bible.us/Matt13.22.NLT The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced.

Michael – you left out the other key parts of the parable. The seed that fell on the footpath, that simply was trampled and never had a chance to grow. There was the seed that fell on rocky soil, that sprung up quickly but died rapidly because the groung was shallow and the plants could not develop roots. Then there was the seed that went on good soil, where it was received and nurtured, springing forth and producing much fruit.
A reminder that we must be ready and open to receive God’s word; to be prepared to nurture and digest the words bringing us eternal life. That if we follow His words of accepting and practicing a loving care of His people while giving adoration and praise for His blessings, we, too, will spring forth bearing the good fruit of love, hope and charity, as we await His harvest when we shall be gathered in for a permanent home in the heavenly kingdom.
Thus begins the discussion of the parable and its lesson. Thank you for taking the time to respond and to share what is in your heart.
