NY1 VIDEO: Andrea Miller, the new president of NARAL Pro-Choice New York, and former Bronx State Assemblyman Michael Benjamin, who now works with NYC Parents’ Choice Coalition, debated New York City’s new sex education curriculum on Inside City Hall.
In the video clip, Ms. Miller holds up the HealthSmart sex ed curriculum which refers to the Go Ask Alice website. She knowingly misled viewers when she denied that inappropriate material is contained in the city curriculum. Additionally, if you look at Appendix A in the ERIC pdf, it compares the number of references to abstinence (90) relative to the number of references to condoms/ contraception (230) in the Reducing The Risk curriculum. http://www.eric.ed.gov/PDFS/ED497153.pdf
