In a story by Jimmy Vielkind, Gov. Cuomo’s comments on the Moreland Commission and it’s hearing yesterday into the workings of the bipartisan State Board of Election.
Vielkind writes:
The governor also reiterated his comments last week that the Moreland Commission should, unabashedly, target the Legislature.
“I plead guilty. I am trying to clean up the Legislature. Like every New Yorker, I’m just tired of hearing, day after day, stories of corruption,” Cuomo said. “They’re certainly not all corrupt, but it has been undeniable that there have been a significant number of legislators who have gotten into trouble.”
Cuomo, during his campaign, promised to grant enforcement powers over election matters to the attorney general’s office, but he has repeatedly balked at doing so.
