Speaking to a large crowd at the conservative Americans for Prosperity Presidential forum here, Santorum said he planned to “talk to minority communities, not about giving them food stamps and government dependency, but about creating jobs so that they can participate in the rise of this country.” Obviously, Rick Santorum has lost his mind. Only a crazy person would say that desiring for Americans to go to college is a liberal conspiracy to indoctrinate young people. After WWII, college educated Americans were going to rebuild Europe and the American economy. During the Cold War, educated Americans were going to help us win the space race and bury the Soviet Union and Communist China. Today, only 18% of African Americans over the age of 25 hold a college degree. Fewer than 50% of white Americans do. Women are attending graduate school in record numbers. I suspect that Rick Santorum fears educated women, minorities and Americans in general. That should worry American voters. |
