According to the NY Post, Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera now has the feds after her.
“The FBI is investigating claims that the scandal-scarred Bronx assemblywoman hired her unqualified then-lover to run her taxpayer-funded nonprofit, and used the charity as her personal piggy bank, The Post has learned.
Agents yesterday paid a visit to the Rockland County home of Rivera’s ex-beau Vincent Pinela, the former $75,000-a-year head of her Bronx Council for Economic Development.”
It seemed only a matter of time before US Attorney Preet Bharara got involved. Bharara has pledged to root out political corruption. He recently secured the convictions of Larry Seabrook and Pedro Espada.
On its editorial page, the paper calls out Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver for his continued support for his embattled colleague.
The saga continues as more law enforcement agencies wade into the Rivera muck.
