On his show this afternoon, Martin Bashir contrasted the public and private Mitt Romney: A man who talk a big game on God and religion in public but then disparages the poor and elderly in private comments to donors in a newly discovered video tape.

“Here is what scripture says about how we should regard those in need, those who may need a helping hand, from just a single chapter in the bible.
It is a sin to despise one’s neighbor, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy. And later in the same chapter, whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors god.
Like a modern day pharisee, Mitt Romney makes a huge spectacle of the fact he won’t remove god from our currency and he won’t take god out of his heart.
But what kind of a heart does he have if he dismisses and derides half the population? I’ll hazard is guess. He has the heart of a hypocrite.”

Bashir says that Romney has to take personal responsibility for his words.
