Last week, FOX News conducted an interview with Ralph Richard Banks, a Stanford University law professor and author of Is Marriage for White People? Mr. Banks’ thesis is quite provocative. He takes the low marriage and high divorce rates among African Americans and turns them sideways.
The book’s title was inspired by a 2006 Washington Post article, in which a 12-year-old student uttered “Marriage is for white people” during a discussion about the importance of fatherhood.
Professor Banks stirs controversy by suggesting interracial marriage as a solution for unwed black women. He told one interviewer that it was”time that black women stopped being held hostage to the deficiencies of black men.”
What do you think? Are black men to blame for failing to keep pace with striving black women?

Why do non blacks want to know, is what I want to know. Why are they suddenly so concerned about the rate of Black women who aren’t married? Everyone isn’t trying to be married, and yes, there are some sappy brothers out there just like there are some sappy White guys out there who need to get their acts together to be able to function properly in a relationship through marriage. Too many of them haven’t even cut the umbilical cord yet, or given up the ‘t!t. Many men of all races are too irresponsible these days, and not stable. Most women want a man or men, not boys.
