As the trial wraps up, prosecutors are also trying to reveal Seabrook’s bank records, pointing to thousands of dollars in unexplained cash deposits. They allege the deposits were kickbacks.
The corruption trial is expected to wrap up next week. CM Seabrook is not expected to take the stand in his defense. His defense team has sought to discredit prosecution witnesses, at least, two of whom testified under grants of immunity from prosecution.
Seabrook’s lawyers have also attempted to portray him as not responsible for the failure of the nonprofits he funded to deliver the services as contracted. The government alleges that  the nonprofits were designed to benefit Seabrook, his family and friends.
