The NY Post has another expose showing that from 2006 until 2010 Bronx Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera placed her-then boyfriend in charge of a nonprofit agency she controlled.
The boyfriend, Vincent Pinela, provided the Post with documents and other details.

According to the NY Post, Assemblyman Rivera has shown a pattern of putting family and “boy toys” in taxpayer funded positions.

Bronx Democratic Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera allegedly used a taxpayer-funded nonprofit as her personal piggy bank, installed her unqualified lover as the group’s leader — and then helped him get a fat raise so he could take her on nice dates.
“I had no background in nonprofits,” said former boyfriend Vincent Pinela, who detailed the shocking arrangement to The Post.
Pinela, a personal trainer, was executive director of the Bronx Council for Economic Development from 2006, when he started dating Rivera, until 2010, shortly after they broke up.
“I shouldn’t have been hired,” he said.

Assemblywoman Rivera issued a statement denying the allegations and calling them defamatory. Just last week Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver said that Rivera had done nothing to warrant an Assembly inquiry into her alleged hiring of Tommy Torres, her current boyfriend, for four months last year.
Rivera faces a primary challenge from businessman Mark Gjonaj, who was recently endorsed by Brooklyn congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, and Adam Bermudez. The primary election Thursday, September 13.
