So what are the qualifications to be inducted into the Bronx Walk of Fame? Just be successful, and from the Bronx? That’s it? No demonstrated commitment to the people of the Bronx?
I always wondered about that, too. I gather that there are only two criteria (1) be a Bronx native (or a long-time resident ala Dr. Ruth Westheimer); and (2) accept one’s nomination. Look at the list of past inductees and see if you can discern any other consistent criteria. I predict the Alan & Arlene Alda (she wrote a recent book about successful Bronx notables, “Just Kids From the Bronx”).

I am sad to realize that I will never be walked upon as a famous Bronx person. I will have to settle for just being Bronx and hopefully walk it forever.

No, Dale. You are much too worthy to be trod upon.
